Below the Jagged Peaks

The wind-swept slopes of sub-arctic mountains are the domain of the Dall’s sheep, aristocrat of grazing animals. It is marvellously adapted to cope with the long winter and to avoid enemies such as the grizzly bear.

This film divulges intimate details of the lives of ewes and their lambs. In early winter, the rams challenge each other in an age-old ritual to perpetuate their beautiful species, while the clash of their spiral horns reverberates among the snow-covered peaks.
