Land of the Ice Bear
- Canada’s north is a land of harsh beauty where only the resilient survive. Caught between the great northern forest and the frozen ends of the earth, the arctic is a unique mosaic of land, sea and ice.
A dynamic community of life as diverse as any found in warmer climes thrives despite the bitter cold. The short summer season is animated with continuous sun and an explosion of life. Flowers spring from the barren land and thousands of migratory birds arrive to breed. Autumn winds warn of the coming winter and preparations begin in earnest for the long nights of snow and ice ahead.
Land of the Ice Bear witnesses the ongoing dramas of life unfolding in the legendary arctic. A caribou herd travels to the sea, walrus confront one of their most feared predators, muskox battle for dominance, and the arctic fox seeks out a meager mealall in the shadow of the largest carnivore on land: the polar bear.
