About the KF Library

Karvonen Films (KF) boasts Canada's most extensive and rapidly expanding library of motion pictures, sounds, and stills from around the world. Our cameras have witnessed a sweeping range of both rare and well-known wildlife in their natural environments, resulting in over 800 hours of footage and sounds, as well as hundreds of stills.

Considered one of Canada’s premiere providers of wildlife images and sounds, KF supplies footage to commercial, documentary, in-house, feature and corporate film markets in North America and abroad. Carefully catalogued and stored, all materials are easily accessed using a comprehensive, searchable database system.

KF continues to shoot on super 16mm film, which is transferred to Digital Beta anamorphically for wide-screen availability. KF stock can also be transferred to High Definition. Special filming techniques include time lapse, dolly, crane, jib arm, aerials, underwater, lipstick camera, and high speed filming for extreme slow motion.
